WEEK 377
Scott screamed into the phone, hoping someone was on the other end and would...

...speak English.

Nine months had passed since his ship docked with the Xorion. The transaction with the Waso Valheet population was supposed to friendly, but the alien race saw fit to destroy the human space craft. A five day battle ensued. The Rutherford XV was destroyed beyond repair and left to drift the galactic realm.

But the Waso Valheet were not a thorough species. They did not scan all compartments for thermal readings. Scott Alexander Floyd was the lone survivor. He had been the best mechanic on the Rutherford XV for thirteen years.

For nine months he repaired the spacecraft whose size was comparable to eight Flesnic Thoruds or the entire state of Rhode Island, located in the United States on planet Earth in the Milky Way Galaxy, currently seven hundred and eight light-years away. On this day he stumbled across the ancient phone. The battery was still charged. The call went out. A connection was made. He screamed and then held his breath, awaiting an answer.

...come to his rescue! He had been able to escape from Alan's house, but not without it following him. He now regretted deeply, his concern over the screaming that had been coming from Alan's basement. Upon entering his neighbor's house, the screaming stopped, replaced by something sounding like twigs being snapped.

"Alan, is everything OK?"

Peering intently at the open door leading to the basement, Scott could see a shadow moving up the stairs.

"Alan?"

What appeared in the doorway, was not his friend. Scott quickly turned, and ran back to his own house. Now, over his screams for help into the seemingly dead phone, the terrible sounds of his front door being torn apart filled his ears. Scott turned just as the door splittered apart, the useless phone falling from his grasp; his panic stricken senses unable to comprehend the demonic hiss that now filled the narrow hallway.

"Still hungry, STILL HUNGRY!"
