WEEK 371
As she sat back, Carolyn suddenly realized why her cereal tasted like...

...garlic! Of course, it was April 1st, and her brother, Zack, must have laced the quart of milk with garlic powder to celebrate April Fool's Day.

"Not bad, little brother, not bad," Carolyn softly muttered, as she poured the remainder of her breakfast into the garbage can. Then she smiled, as she pondered...

"Carolyn, what did you do!," Zack's shriek came from the upstairs bathroom.

As she pondered what his reaction would be when he discovered that while he slept, she had applied waterproof makeup, in a very uncomplimentary manner, to his face. She knew it would eventually wash off, but the new haircut she had also administered, could not be taken care of, at least not before they had to leave for school!

"Hey, Zack," Carolyn shouted, "Don't forget about class pictures today!"

Suddenly, that garlic flavored milk did not taste so bad.

...a greasy, old oil-pan-plug-opening-socket from Sears. She stared as the socket seemed to be peeping back at her from the milk.

The garage door opened and her husband came in looking perplexed.

"Looking for this?" Carolyn asked.

He smiled. "There it is! I've looked everywhere for it!"

"Not everywhere. I found it in my cereal."

Her husband nodded enthusiastically. "I know, that’s where I was going to check next."

Carolyn’s frown was deep and wide. "You expected it to be in the cereal?"

"Well, not really. I expected it to be in the instant mashed potatoes. I keep the extra wood screws in the cereal. I guess I’m just getting senile."
