WEEK 364
"Hey!" Ronald shouted, running after the car. "Stop! I think you've still got my..."

...ex-girlfriend in the trunk of the car," his voice fading to a disappointed whisper.

Ronald dropped his hand and shook his head. An approaching taxi honked their horn to get the city dweller out of the street and possibly the rain.

All Ronald could think about was all the work he had done in tracking his ex across six states, cunningly approaching her in disguise, winning her heart again, and exposing his true identity just before killing her. All the satisfaction was now lost in the labyrinth of New York City.

...phone!" he stopped running, bent down and put his hands on his knees. Great, he thought to himself. Not only do I have a conference in 15 minutes, but now I don't have a car or a phone.

Ronald went inside and changed into his fancy business suit, went back outside and started to walk down the street.

A few mintues into his fantastic walk a blue Honda Fit flew down the road showering him in muddy water from last night's rain. Ronald sloshed into the middle of the road and shouted, "Can this get any worse?!" Then a drunk driver came tumbling down the road and flattend Ronald into a pancake.

...phone in there!"

Bishop pulled his old, rusted Ford to the shoulder after hearing his friend yelling.

"Help me look for my phone, Bishop, I'm still waiting for Kristen to call me back."

Bishop looked on the passenger seat as Ronald bent down to look around the base of the seat.

"Oh man, Bishop, I hope it didn't fall out of the car while we were moving! The bottom of your door over here is all rusted away."

"Don't pick on my car, Ron, it starts every day, and hauls you around."

"I know, Bish, but...hey, use your phone and call my number!"

"Brilliant, man, brilliant!"

Ron's brilliant plan produces no ringing within Bishop's car. But two miles behind them, a small bird is suddenly startled into flight, as the strange device lying in the gravel on the side of the road, starts to vibrate and ring.
