WEEK 348
"No one is leaving this meeting," Herbert said, "until we find out who..."

...Super Glued these chairs!"

"Actually," Matt remarked from the opposite end of the conference table, "I don't think we're going anywhere until we figure out how to stand up." The others snickered as they tried to extricate themselves from the goo that held them captive.

"Someone call security!" Herbert fumed. Alas, there was no cell phone reception in the windowless room. He considered pushing his chair backwards to the door behind him, but one of the downsides of being height-challenged was that his feet did not reach the floor.

"Matt!" he shouted, face aflame. "Someone! Get to the door!" Several of his staff struggled to move their chairs with little success. Panicked, Herbert did not care who had done this. They had to get out of the room! He vowed whoever did it would never attend another staff meeting!

And he suspected that was exactly what whoever did this wanted.

...is having an affair with my wife."

The club members gasped. Stealthily, Klaus eyed the room. He feared the color rising in his cheeks would betray him. No one moved. The silence was terrifying. Herbert, besides being a former executioner was known for his ferocious temper. It took little to ignite his flame. This would be monumental.

And what of dear, sweet Felicity? How would she ever survive Herbert's wrath.

Suddently a strange thing happened. Several of the men in the group stood, guilt over riding their trepidation. Klaus was outraged. Apparently Felicity's sweetness was sampled by many.

Herbert began to scream. All at once the room went dark. What followed remained a secret for the next 150 years.
