...trying to kill the kids when they throw items at your car, okay baby?"
"Stupid kids... can't respect.. lousy parents... It's MY CAR?! I've worked sooo hard for it, I can't take it anymore... one more scratch, even just one finger print and I am getting out the chainsaw."
"Honey.. I know you are upset.. but how about we not get so extreme? I mean last year it was guns, all which backfired on you, and look what it did to your arms?" Melanie gently rubbed her husband's arm, pulling in closer to him. Her warm breath was close to his mouth. "I don't want to do another trip to the hospital." Their lips brushed while they spoke.
"I know, I know, but with a chainsaw..."
"Shh... not now." Their lips met in a gentle kiss.
"But my car, it's my life. It means everything and more to me. I'd leave you for it if it were alive.."
The kiss abrubtly stopped. "Excuse me?" Mel said in a snotty voice. "You want to repeat that?"
"Oh, sure.. My car is my life.." Jeck went on repeating his sentance, not noticing what he was saying until the last couple words. "... If it were alive... Oops, I mean... I don't really mean that, Honey." He moved towards her, holding his arms out for a hug.
"Whatever, Jeck, it doesn't matter." She moved towards the garage. "I'm going to go make sure that chainsaw is working, do you want to help me?" She spoke in a seductive voice, but had the eyes of the Devil.
"Sure!" They linked arms and went into the garage. "It's by the tools."
"Okay, let me see... Ah, here we go..." Mel turned on the saw, its noise filled the concrete room. She moved closer to Jeck. "Does it sound good to you?"
"Um.. yeah.. Honey, can you back up a little?"
"Oh, don't be silly, I won't hurt you..." Mel moved closer and closer. Her husband's words were no longer heard. When she was soon only a inch away from his chest and "tripped."
"Ah, look, Babe. It works fine. Don't worry, I will take care of your car..."

...not sitting on our backsides."
"You're blocking the football game," Tom grumped. "What are we gonna do? Work on my book about forts?"
Flipping off the TV, Melanie answered, "This year, Dear Husband of mine, beginning right now we're not watching the games on TV, we are going to them!"
Jaw dropping, wide eyed, and speechless, Tom reached out for Melanie's hand. "Let's go," he hooted, regaining his breath. "Just on the off chance of being nosey, though, how are we going to pay for this?" he asked. "Or is this an April fool's joke four months early?"
"No April fool's joke. Look here." Melanie handed Tom five rather large checks. "I finally made my way through the publishing maze. I have three children's books with sequels under contract and am now getting royalties on two freelance direct mail pieces. Want to work on your forts book between games?"

...complaining... we will NOT complain, not just this year, but we will not complain for the rest of our lives..."
"That will be easy," Bill said, "let's start now."
"What do you mean now? You won't be able to start now, you never do anything 'now'."
"Well, then that is your first complaint that I never do anything now. I'll prove you wrong, and that means that you have to stop complaining about me, too. Don't complain that I complain even. After all it is your idea!"
"Oh, I wonder if we could NOT complain for even a day!"
"Yes," said Bill, "of course we could. It's just a matter of choice. I will agree with you, and we'll not complain, but if we do, we'll just start again until we have a complaint free day and then we'll celebrate."
"O.K. then, let's try..."
"We CAN," said Bill, "Remember, success come in 'Can's'!"
