...a werewolf."
She looked at his bloodied shirt and said, "What? Are you serious? A real werewolf?"
"Yes, look at the bite on my shoulder. It bit me when I tried to run. I can't believe it let go," he said, trying to comprehend what just happened.
She looked at him and said with worry in her voice, "The moon will be full in two more days. You'll turn into...." She left it at that.
"I know, you don't have to say it."
They started back down the hill toward the camp.

...answer to dreams."
Fixing all his weight on his right leg he rose from his nap in a drunken swager.
The old man brushed back what little brown hair remained on his liver spotted head, and took another step twoards the shimmering river on top of the hilltop "All these years," he grumbled, "and it was right here!"
The old man's smile revealed three and a half teeth and his smile resembled that of a lunatic's grin. His eyes, however, retained the light of someone lost and come home at last.
Still lumbering up the lush green hilltop the man tripped and fell at last into the stream which shone brighter than the sun, yet did not hurt his eyes.
The old man smiled and the crow's feet around his eyes disapeared. He lowered his head to the running stream and drank.

...secret world of war crazed fairies!"
The doctor at the clinic eyed the local homeless man with amusement. "Do they ride on horses or unicorns?" He laughed.
"Unicorns with horns on their heads sharp as iron spikes!" The man's red eyes grew wide and he leaned into the doctor. "And they use sling-shots and spears for weapons! I got popped with one of their flying stones right here!"
The doctor examined the nickle size bruise on the man's brow. Then he cleaned and dressed several tiny puncture holes on his scar riddin arms. Suddenly the doctor remembered the bag lady he treated the week before who had similar wounds. She said she got caught in the cross fire of the fighting fairies on the same "Drinkers Hill."
That night the doctor sat on that hill, and waited. But the only creatures at war was an army of hungry fire ants.

...ravenous bunny rabbit?" he said, his voice shaking, "I went to pet it and it just attacked!" he said, his eyes shining as he remembered what had happened one day ago. He gulped and was shaking, "Then it just hopped away saying 'you'll be sorry' over and over!"

...portal to another dimension."
Carl struggled to get up, disoriented to his surroundings. He noticed the cars that were passing were from the 1940s. Could he have traveled back sixty years? Then a frightening thought crept into his mind, How will I ever get back to my family?
"Well, if I am here I had might as well make the best of it." Carl brushed himself off, walking to the nearest café.
The people around him looked fresh, untarnished from the high tech millennium age. He entered the restaurant, taking a seat near a window.
"Carl...Mr. Newman...can you hear me?" the nurse whispered into his ear.
Carl opened his eyes, looking around seeing his family and the nurse standing by his bed.
"Honey, you gave us quite a scare," Rosemary continued. "Everything is going to be okay now you're back."
Carl learned later that he had been in a near fatal car accident.

...a flock of rabid penquins?"
"Rabid penquins?" the bartender asked. "You were attacked by a flock of rabid penquins on Cronker's Hill?"
"I know it sounds crazy, but, yes, a flock of rabid penquins attacked me with clubs and rocks as I got near the top of the hill."
The bartender looked at him for a moment, frowning and shaking his head slowly. "You're sure it was rabid penquins?"
"Postive."
The bartender continued shaking his head as he lifted the phone and punched in 911. "Give me the sheriff's office," he said. "And make it quick. The Black and White Gang's back in town!"

...crazy, mad man, dressed in metal silver slippers, a mini skirt and a top with pink roses. He had criss-cross stockings. The sight of him, while I climbed the hill to see the sunset, well, I freaked and rolled head over heels all the way to the bottom. Look at me!!
But the only sound was the sound of loud laughter...

...dirty, rotten peanut butter sandwich with 'forever' written on it, and I'm getting hungry, so let's go and catch that pig. I feel like I want to pig out on pig. Mmm roast pork sounds good..."
"But I'm a vegetarian. I'm not like you, I'm not a pig, I'm a chicken."
"Then you have that sandwich. I'll catch my supper in a minute. But first, I shall ask you a riddle... what happened to the little chicken that cried, 'wolf!'?"
"Dunno."
"It got caught with a sandwich, and then it was eaten," said the wolf taking off his man suit.

...tiger and its mate, a couple of lion, two elephants, two emus, two monkeys and a baby monkey, a couple of dozen rats, numerous rabbits, all kinds of animals... I don't know where they all came from."
"I do," said his wife, "they came off of the ark, you know, Noah's Ark. After all, Shem, Noah was your father, you should know that, or have you lost your memory since our rocky landing?"

...host of warriors, fully armed ready to fight? I saw them from the top of the tree over there, on that rise, and the sight of them almost gave me a heart attack, that's why I fell out of the tree. They are enemies from the north! And I feel certain, that behind the hill, there will be hundreds of barbarians with horses, all awaiting the word to attack!"
"What?--That's impossible," Young Prince Jason said, lifting his hands to sit on his hips while he squinted into the sunlight, trying to view the hilltop. It did look like an ordinary hilltop, calm and soothing. "I was going to climb it and read my book up there."
"That's why I climbed the tree, just to see what I could see. They're hiding behind those high grassy tussocks. There's a couple of warriors down in shallow ditches, behind each of those green clumps up there."
Jason felt both dread and excitement. He spoke to his minder again, saying, "We'll hurry back to my father and warn him. Enemies less than a mile from the city gates! At last I can do something that he will count as being useful." Jason mounted his shining white stallion, turning to to look at the hill again.
"It's the prince, and he's going to warn his father, the king!" a voice shouted, and as one, a host of warriors rose from the huge grassy hill, over three hundred of them. With a staggered 'roar', they began to descend the hill.
"Quick, mount!" shouted Jason, "We must hurry!"
Riding ahead of the running warriors, Jason and Stan spurred their horses into a gallop. Would they make it in time?
